Atlanta International Fashion Week was an absolute disgrace. I did not make it to the one day that had a runway show, but when I was available for anything else, it slowly became a club event before I could even finish putting on my makeup.
One particular night ruined the credibility of AIFW for me. A “Fashion FWD cocktail” event was scheduled at a club in Atlanta named Vice. I had never been, mostly because I’m still not old enough to drink alcohol. Yet, I’m more professional than those who could set up this event.
After about an hour of waiting around and club managers stalling, we figure out that the event is really for Yung Joc and his crew. There is no AIFW event there tonight. Absolute fail. I will not be putting my faith into this event again.
During the hour of waiting, either outside or in The Chocolate Bar (a very great lounge with delicious desserts), some pictures were taken! I cannot let go of these JS platforms and green jacket. They’re amazing companions. Not only that, but the heels were very easy to walk in and very comfortable. No added pain from the height. I guess it takes a few walks around the house to get used to them, but afterwards, it is smooth sailings.
Jacket: Thrifted, Dress: H&M, Shoes: Jessica Simpson, Hat:borrowed, Rings: Forever21, Necklace: Can’t remember (Jewelry Store in Athens, GA, though)
Such a good outfit wasted on that night! The dress has a shimmery quality that I love. Even after I’ve finished moving, it still continues a bit afterwards. I first saw the dress on Where Did U Get That? and didn’t even realize they were the same when I found it on clearance in H&M! I always feel better after finding a deal.
I also got another flapper-esque dress that I really want to find a place to wear. I think I’ll end up just wearing it for no reason. Atlanta is not the best city to just say “eff it all.” Along with Southern Hospitality comes Southern scrutiny and conformity. But that happens anywhere you go.

I have had those Jessica Simpson heels on my ebay watchlist for how long and now luck. So jealous!
