Harem Tights

Since I’ve been here in Paris, it seems that going out for a fun night has gotten more difficult. It’s probably a case of not knowing the right people. Perhaps I’m just not looking in the right places. But the music is always lackluster, as is the crowd. Maybe I have not downed enough drinks, but I never like needing alcohol for a good time.

The other night, I was invited to a little birthday celebration that would continue at Club Gibus by metro Republique. The music is mostly hip hop, so I hoped it would be a good time. After several nights of walking around aimlessly in four inches or higher heels, I was begging for an actually good night. But I wasn’t going to wear heels. I opted for these black flat boots from Dolce Vita that I will have to show you later.

Since it was a cold night, I felt that wearing tights would be a necessity. Now, I don’t know if I’ve gotten a bit bigger, or my last wash of the delicates caused them to shrink, but my tights were tight. Pulling them up was difficult and after awhile I thought I would just settle for the harem tight look for the night. A nice, long shirt, styled tights and heels? The result:

 

 

Excuse the, um, panty patch at the crotch? I figure since you can’t actually see anything vulgar, it isn’t. But would you really be surprised if someone tried to work this look? It’s like a pencil skirt and tights in one. If it came walking down a major runway, I wouldn’t be shocked at all. Actually, I’ll be a trendsetter, perhaps a muse! … no. But we’ll give it a few seasons. :-)

Also excuse the mess! I’ve just rearranged everything and acquired some new sheets! Tomorrow, I will have a new microwave oven! I’ll post pictures after my trip with my French class to the Marais tomorrow. I’m even thinking of walking by a few fashion shows to see the sights!
