I Lost My Eyebrows in a Bet

I’ve been reading some short stories lately for English. Right now, I should be reading some by Edgar Allan Poe. Do I really want to be doing that? Not really. My back hurts. The room is cold. My soup didn’t turn out like I wanted tonight. Oh well. Scary stories all around.

I’ve been really fascinated by the amount of fashion editorials done with the bleached eyebrows look. The models have this extra-terrestrial quality, and I’ve wondered how one could replicate this look. In a fit of boredom, I decide to play with my makeup and find out.

Obviously, you can see how it worked out. My eyebrows aren’t completely gone, but in contrast to the eyebrows I was born with, or shade in, these are pretty light. There is still a weird factor. It’s funny too because my hair is a dark brown. Not at all the black that the camera captured. Yeah, I edited the photos a bit, but even in the originals, my hair looks darker. It must be from the lack of sunshine my hair has gotten since living in the city. (bahaha!)DSC_0808-1

My friend and I also agreed that we both need to get a tan. We need some sun on the skin! We’re both black, but sometimes, we look at our pictures and think…why do we look sick? But, it is helping my new vampire persona shown here. I look very undead, no?

In case you ever want to achieve this look, I used my MAC concealer and stick foundation from IMAN to lighten the eyebrows without permanently bleaching them. I don’t know if this would last all night, but you can give it a try if you’re feeling really daring. And the lipstick is from Revlon’s Matte collection called “Wine Not.” Clever, huh?
