New Workout Plan

I joined a gym! A real-life gym in Paris. Honestly, the first semester I got here, I thought gyms with machines and trainers were myths.  Allusive, ultra-secret clubs that only the very rich Parisians could access.

But, after much coaxing from my friends, I was persuaded to come join a gym. And not a bougie gym. A normal gym called Neoness. It’s pretty amazing! I love it. At a bit less than 30EUR a month, I can’t ask for better!

Since I should be focusing on toning those gluts and firming the abs, I’m way too busy to take pictures of the place. Realistically, it’s the same feeling I get when the computer lab is full, and I’m on Facebook. Foolish and lame. So, I won’t be taking pictures unless I snap some incognito Blackberry photos.

Anyways, I love this place. It has all the machines I need. Offers classes and personal trainers should I ever have the desire to do a bit extra (which I don’t). It’s exactly the type of thing that makes this place feel even more like home.

Did I mention I also have a job? I work at the American grocery in the Seventh Arrondissement! Come visit if you’re passing by. Maybe place an order for a real turkey for Thanksgiving! We can cook it!

It’s things like this that makes Paris a more livable city. There are so many things to love, but it goes without saying that one needs to do more than just exist here to know the language and the people.

The one bad thing about the gym is the hair. I’m terrible at straightening it correctly the first time, so I very easily sweat it out during work outs, or see it curl during the day. My solution: a beret. I actually love this hat. So portable, and so easy.

And please, I know you’re going to diss my shoes! They’re amazing, and nothing anyone tells me will ever change that! In fact, I want more. Non-Vibram wearers don’t know what they’re missing out on! The next ones I want would have to be the Bikila’s in magenta. In. love.

And, I’m going to be busy over the next weeks. Last week was due to work and school. This week is due to the same. I need winter break to arrive quickly now.

You know what’s also a shame? Though I’ve named this post “New Workout Plan,” I haven’t listened to Kanye’s song of the same title in the gym. I’ll have to fix that soon.

  2. I don't have any shoes like that...but I won't diss yours. Don't knock it 'til you try it, right? Congrats on joining the gym and staying fit.

  3. Thanks, Nik! I'm serious, I love these shoes! They're very comfortable, and I don't have the problem of falling arches with them.

And Danny, I knew you would be proud!
